Try this homemade healthy popcorn recipe! 🍿
Healthy Air Popped Popcorn
Ingredients: 3 ½ tbsp fresh popcorn kernels ¼ - ½ tsp salt, or adjusted to taste
Directions: Preheat a 2-quart nonstick pot with a tight-fitting lid over medium-high heat for 2 minutes. Open the lid, and add a few drops of water to the pot. If they immediately sizzle, reduce the heat to slightly above low. Add the popcorn kernels, and immediately replace the lid
Gently shake the pot every 2 seconds. (The popcorn kernels should start popping within 1-2 minutes.) Continue to gently shake the pot every 2 seconds until at least 3 seconds elapsed in between kernel pops. Immediately remove the pot from the heat, pour the popcorn into a large bowl, and sprinkle the salt on top.
If you wanted to skip the stovetop, you can cook popcorn in the microwave! Simply add popcorn kernels to a paper bag a roll to seal the top of the bag (leave enough room for popcorn to pop). Put in microwave for 2 minutes or until you don't hear popping for 10 seconds! Don't overcook popcorn burns very quickly.
Toppings for Popcorn: Apple Pie Popcorn: Ingredients: Apple pie spice Vanilla Cinnamon Directions: 1) Mix all ingredients together with popcorn and enjoy it.
Wasabi Soy Sauce Popcorn Ingredients: 3 tablespoons coconut oil or butter 1 tbsp soy sauce 2 tsp wasabi powder 1 tsp sea salt 1 tsp red pepper flakes Directions: Melt coconut oil or butter in the microwave. Add in soy sauce and wasabi powder and stir until completely mixed. Pour oil/butter mixture over warm popcorn and mix to coat Sprinkle in sea salt and red pepper flakes and mix again. Enjoy!
