Not all smoothies are created equal!

Did you know not all smoothies are not are not created equal? 🥝


I know, it sounds strange but it's true!

For the most part,the smoothies served at popular smoothie shops tend to have a lot of sugar which can make an otherwise healthy smoothie into one you should avoid.(I am not speaking for every smoothie shop here. There are of course great shops out there, just be aware of what you are buying and ask questions if you’re ever not sure)⁣


For example, a place like Smoothie King definitely isn't the healthiest place to grab a nutritious & refreshing meal. Sure this is fine to have as a treat every once in a while, butthink of it more like a dessert than a meal. ⁣


In fact, the only fruit that Smoothie King uses which is actually fresh are bananas. The “fruit” syrups have added sugars and are not the same thing as a fresh or frozen piece of fruit. ⁣⁣

Save yourself the added sugar, calories and money buying a smoothie from a shop but instead consider making one at home!⁣


Don’t think you have the time to whip up a smoothie every day? You’re not alone, that is why I recommend prepping your smoothies in advance then freezing the contents to ensure an easy & healthy breakfast even while on-the-go! (See image below)



Not only is nutrition a differentiating factor, price is as well! Below is a breakdown of a weeks worth of homemade superfood smoothie vs. the price of just one smoothie from Smoothie King!⁣
