Afraid to go shopping for your healthy grocery haul in fear of spending your whole paycheck in one shopping trip? Totally understandable- but it doesn't have to be that way.
Stick to these 3 tips and you'll be on your way to staying under budget week after week on your groceries.
1. Everything doesn't have to be organic! The items on the Dirty Dozen lists are items that should be bought organic- since we consume the outer skin that has been sprayed with pesticides. ( Even then, the benefits of eating these items conventionally grown (non-organic) are going to be beneficial for you). Search EWG.org to get the full "Dirty Dozen" list.
2. Watch where you shop! Get an idea of what grocery stores to keep the best prices of your most frequently bought items. Places like Aldi, Produce Junction, and even Walmart are great places to find healthy + organic choices for a hell of a lot less money than other stores. Wholesale stores like Costco, BJ's, and Sam's are also great choices.
3. Skip the fancy labeling and prepackaged foods- your favorite healthy foods like almond milk, bone broth, hummus, guac & more can be made at home for wayyy less. Snag my cookbook, "Simple Balanced Eats" for very easy ways to make these items!
